Bengaluru Namma Metro Update: Yellow Line To Be Launched In May; Know Route, Stations, Other Details

Namma Metro Project Update: Bengaluru's Namma Metro authorities on Thursday stated that the much-awaited Yellow Line is set to be launched in May 2025, providing convenience to the residents of several regions. The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) had earlier informed that the Yellow Line will span 18.82 km and will operate from Rashtreeya Vidyalaya (RV) Road station to Bommasandra.

The authorities stated that the new addition to the Namma metro network is likely to reduce traffic congestion in these areas and will give a major boost to the public transport sector of the city. While providing details, the officials stated that the Yellow Line will start from RV Road Station in Basavanagudi and will pass through several key stations, including Jayadeva Hospital, BTM Layout, HSR Layout, and Oxford College.

'Yellow Line Will Have 16 Elevated Stations'

The officials stated that the Yellow Line will reduce traffic congestion significantly as these stations are situated in the commercial and residential areas where thousands of residents live. Apart from this, the Yellow Line will have 16 elevated stations, including Rashtreeya Vidyalaya Road, Ragigudda, Jayadeva Hospital, BTM Layout, Central Silk Board, Bommanahalli, Hongasandra, Kudlu Gate, Singasandra, Hosa Road, Beratena Agrahara, Konappana Agrahara, Electronic City, Huskuru Road, Hebbagodi, and Bommasandra.

'Trains To Operate From 5 AM To 11 PM' 

While giving updates, the officials stated that the entire corridor is currently under construction, adding that it is likely to be completed ahead of the deadline. The BMRCL had also stated that the Yellow Line will operate every everyday from 5 AM to 11 PM. They further stated that the fare structure is also affordable, adding that while the minimum fare will be Rs 10, the maximum fare will be Rs 60.

Earlier on March 21, Bengaluru Namma Metro officials stated that they are planning to further expand the metro's network in Bengaluru. The officials further stated that BMRCL is currently conducting a survey to add a 197 km route to the existing route.
