While most children are still mastering the alphabet or figuring out how to stack blocks, this two-year-old is busy stacking world records. Meet Jude Owens, the Manchester toddler who bagged the Guinness World Records on January 28, becoming the youngest person ever to perform two trick shots during a game. Not only did the li’l champ become the youngest person to make a pool bank shot on October 12, 2025, he was also the youngest person to make a snooker double pot 41 days before that.
The first cue, the first spark
Jude was introduced to snooker and pool by his father, Luke, who bought him a mini table and noticed his son’s natural ease with the cue. He said, “I think I realised it once he put the cue through his fingers. It was dead natural, the way he did it.” Initially, when Jude struggled to reach the table owing to his height, the family used bar stools, before switching to a cooking stool that helped him position himself better for shots. “He doesn’t beat me at snooker at the moment,” says Luke, “but I like to think he would in the next few years easily.” Guinness World Records Editor-in-Chief Craig Glenday said it special to see such talent, dedication, and enthusiasm in someone so young. She added, “We’re thrilled to welcome him into the Guinness World Records family.”
