How to Apply

  • One-Time Registration (OTR) : Visit the official website https://ssc.gov.in or use the My SSC mobile app to complete your One-Time Registration, as OTRs from the old website will not function.

  • Aadhaar Authentication : It is advised to opt for Aadhaar-based authentication during the OTR process to simplify future document requirements.  

  • Login to Application Module : After successful OTR, use your registration number and password to log in and proceed to the application form for the CGL Examination 2026.

  • Fill Application Details : Carefully fill in all required fields, including personal details, preference for examination centers, and educational qualifications.

  • Capture Live Photograph : Use the application module to capture a live, clear photograph (without cap, mask, or spectacles) directly against a plain background.

  • Upload Signature : Upload your scanned signature in JPEG format (10 to 20 KB) with dimensions of 6.0 cm width x 2.0 cm height.

  • Review and Submit : Thoroughly check the preview of your application to ensure all details are correct before clicking the "Final Submit" button.  

  • Fee Payment : Complete the fee payment through online modes (BHIM UPI, Net Banking, or Credit/Debit cards) if you are not exempted from the fee.

  • Application Correction (Optional) : If needed, a three-day window will be available after the application closing date to make corrections by paying the stipulated charges.

Selection Process

  • One-Time Registration (OTR) : Candidates must complete OTR on the official website (https://ssc.gov.in) to generate a registration number, which is required before applying for the examination.

  • Online Application Submission : Candidates must submit their online applications through the official SSC website, ensuring all details and preferences are correctly entered before the closing date.

  • Computer-Based Examination (Tier-I) : Candidates are shortlisted based on their performance in the Tier-I examination to appear for the subsequent Tier-II examination.

  • Computer-Based Examination (Tier-II) : Final selection is based on the aggregate marks scored in specific sections of the Tier-II examination, depending on the post.

  • Document Verification (DV) : Following the declaration of the final results, the respective User Departments/Organizations conduct document verification to validate educational qualifications, caste/category, and other eligibility criteria.

  • Physical/Medical Standards : For posts with specific requirements, physical and medical tests are conducted by the concerned User Departments after the final selection and nomination.
