Selection Process

  • First Phase - Written Examination : The process begins with an objective-type, OMR-based written examination consisting of two papers: Paper-I (100 questions/100 marks) and Paper-II (Conventional type, 100 marks).

  • Second Phase - Documentation : Candidates who qualify for the written examination undergo a verification of original testimonials, educational/technical certificates, and other required documents.

  • Physical Standards Test (PST) : Candidates qualified in documentation are measured for height, chest, and weight to ensure they meet the specific physical standards required for the post.

  • Physical Efficiency Test (PET) : Candidates who pass the PST must complete physical efficiency events, which are qualifying in nature (including running, long jump, and high jump).

  • Third Phase - Practical/Trade Test : Successful candidates from the second phase undergo a practical or trade test, which is also qualifying in nature.

  • Medical Examination : The final stage is a detailed medical examination conducted by a medical board to assess the physical and mental fitness of the candidate.

  • Review Medical Examination (RME) : Candidates declared unfit during the detailed medical examination may, upon giving written consent, undergo a Review Medical Examination to rule out errors of judgment.

  • Final Merit List : A post-wise and category-wise final merit list is drawn based on the marks secured in the written examination, with tie-breaking rules applied if necessary.
